Mom's visit

This past week was wonderful and hard. It was wonderful to have my mom spend the week with us! I love that my mom is willing to just experience life with us. I don't need to entertain her; she is willing to just participate in our lives here. The kids loved spending time with her, and I loved decorating my home for Christmas with her! It was a little early to decorate, but I love Christmas and this time of year you need to have more lights around with less day light hours! Dad was able to be with us for a bit on Friday night and Saturday. During that time we crammed in a birthday celebration for my dad, played some games, and hiked in between a couple of meetings he had on Saturday.

It was a hard week in the parenting realm. We made a change in Robbie's special ed teacher, which we think will be fantastic in the long run! But navigating through parenting continually has its challenges. TaLisa had a week that was heavy on cello performances! I am so proud of her! She works very hard, and I thank God for the teacher He provided for her and a group of kids who are also invested in playing the cello! On top of all this, one of Rob's friends found out that he has diabetes! What a challenging thing to learn how to deal with at the age of 15! Another friend of mine lost her father in law this week. So many challenges!

I am thankful for the coming week off of school for the kids! We had hoped that some of our family would be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with us. It is not to be. But we do plan to hang out with some of our friends and enjoy some time together.
