All in a week

I am sitting in my dim house. On the table sits the pumpkin with the flickering candle light coming out of the holes in his face. Pizzas are in the oven, and I am planning to watch Wild at Heart with my family tonight. I am so thankful for times like this. It is peaceful, and there is a sense of enjoyment at being together at the end of the long week.

This week we had an IEP meeting and teacher conferences for Robbie. For the most part it was hugely encouraging. Since I have had kids in four different schools, there is no way for me to be as involved as I was when they were only at one or two schools. I also wanted to step back a bit and see how Rob would do with less support in high school. He has stepped up to the challenge! Don't get me wrong; we still do a lot of homework together. However, I don't know his schedule or when things are due. I have been letting him do the directing as to what we need to study and when. All of his teachers were complimentary about his hard work and respect. And I am thankful that he still qualifies for the help he needs.

On Wednesday, the highschool had a career day, and it was a half day of school. We picked up Rob's friend right after school, and they had a fantastic time hanging out at our house. Thursday the elementary had off of school, so TaLisa had a friend over. They made a big peanut butter chocolate chip cookie. It was fun getting to know her friend a little better.

Today everyone had the day off of school. It was a relaxing day for the most part.
