First Day of School

The kids had their first day of school on August 4th. It will be an interesting year.

A huge answer to one of our prayers is that Robbie is able to be in NILD this year. This is a program that will use exercises to help the right and left sides of his brain to connect better. I had looked into this program two years ago, but there were no trained teachers in our area. He says his schedule is perfect. That is not to say it will be easy, but he is pleased with the classes he has this year.

ShaeLynn ended up with the exact same schedule as her closest friend at school. To be together in all their classes just makes the whole experience of going to school easier for her. Please pray that she will make a few more friends this year in her class.

TaLisa has a male teacher this year. I am excited about that for her. Robbie and ShaeLynn both had a male teacher for 2nd grade, and male teachers just bring a different dynamic to the classroom. The classroom set up is very different this year. There are 38 students, and the school did not have two full time teachers for 5th grade, so they divided the class in half. In the morning there are two teachers, a third teacher teaches the class Bible, and some days TaLisa's teacher will have all 38 in the afternoon. The pro is that it will prepare this class for middle school and dealing with multiple teachers. Please pray for TaLisa as she adjusts to this new schedule. She is feeling a bit concerned about some of the academics, areas that she has struggled with before.

Nathaniel has not said much yet about school, his teacher, or his class. He is happy to see his friends from last year again. Please pray he would develop a close friendship this year.
