Faith

What does it mean to really have faith? Faith is mentioned over 422 times in the Bible. Faith is defined as believing and expecting for the things you cannot see. The Bible says that if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will be able to move mountains. I have looked at this verse and wondered what is Jesus really trying to say?

The disciples had asked Jesus to increase their faith. To me this sounds like an excellent request, but Jesus told them they didn't need a big amount of faith...why? Because it wasn't about the amount of faith, but rather what they were placing their faith in. With God all things are possible!

Romans says that faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Hebrews says that without faith it is impossible to please Him. 2 Corinthians says that we need to live by faith not sight.

I am so glad it is not something I have to find in myself. I simply have to look to the source of my faith. So (Mark 9:24) "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”
