This year we decided to stay home for Christmas since Kris will be leaving for Nicaragua on January 5th. We had a tremendous wind storm on Sunday. It was chilly, so we started a fire down in the wood stove. On Monday the kids did a lot of playing. We let them open one present up earlier in the day to keep them occupied. That evening we went to the Christmas Eve service at our church. It was really nice, and I especially enjoyed the carols. Then we came home and had finger foods while watching a movie. Then we opened our presents. In hind sight, I don't think we will wait till that late to open them again. The kids were delighted with all of their gifts. After opening each gift, Nathaniel would exclaim, "Oh, this is what I always wanted!!!" It was funny. Then the kids slept all down in the living room by the Christmas tree. That is one of our traditions. Well, even though they went to bed near midnight, they were up bright and early. On Christmas morning we opened our stockings and played with our gifts. I was able to do quite a bit of scrapbooking. I am now done with two of the kids albums through 2006. When I get everyone caught up to 2006...I am done with scrapbooking. Christmas Day was so relaxed. We just enjoyed being together, having a nice ham dinner, and talking on the phone to our families.
