Nathaniel and I went on his field trip to Cozy Nook Farm. It was actually kind of fun. The field trip was on a Monday, and the day before the temps were in the 70's and we were all wearing t-shirts. But at least it wasn't terribly cold or raining! The kids loved touching the animals. Nathaniel was really listening and taking it all in. It was actually quite funny. The farmer was telling us about milking the cows, and he had one cow that had two or three sets of twins. She was a big milk producer. And just to prove his point he showed us a picture of her at her prime on his cell phone. Forget the photos of the wife and kids! :) You can always tell a true farmer!
After that we went on a hay ride. He stopped at one of the fields and gave the kids some soybeans and alfalfa to look at. Well, Nathaniel really enjoyed eating the soybeans and the alfalfa. When we got to the pumpkin patch, the kids were all allowed to get out and choose a pumpkin. The patch was actually beautiful with morning glories all through out. I couldn't resist a picture.
