On June 21st, Kris and I flew down to Florida for 10 days of training at the Headquarters. This will help us to function better when we get to the Philippines. There were about 15 of us that did the training together. It was excellent, and we have taken away some conflict resolution tools that we are already putting into practice. The time down there was also special because I was able to reconnect with people I hadn't seen in many years. I spent some time with my dorm mom, and I enjoyed listening to her play the piano again. It was a busy time with 8-10 hours of meetings each day, but on Sunday afternoon we had some time to slip away to the beach. It was a treat being out just the two of us for the afternoon. While we were in FL, my mom watched our kids here in Wisconsin. On Wednesday morning she woke up to an inch and a half of water all over our basement floor. We are so fortunate to have friends we could call on to help her. What a mess! The stuff is still out in the garage, and I plan to deal with it this week.
