Memorial Day Weekend

I was so happy for Memorial Day Weekend! It seems like the past couple of weeks have been insanely busy, and our whole family just needed a weekend at home together to regroup and rest. We started the weekend off with a field trip with Robbie on Friday. It was actually a lot of fun. I had three boys, and amazingly, they were the best group I have ever had on a field trip. We went to Fort Atkinson, and there were a lot of boths with people who live history. So the kids learned how to make fire, ground corn, march like the soliders, etc. It was very interesting. On Saturday I went over to a friend's house to get some day lillies she was splitting. We put them in our gardens in the front. We have recently done some landscaping in front. Kris also moved about a whole driveway worth of rocks so we could plant some bushes in front of the windows under the trilevel part of our home. We worked until late Saturday night, but managed to squeeze in a movie at the end of the evening. Sunday was more relaxing. I helped the kids get homework done, and we took TaLisa out and taught her to ride her bike without training wheels. Actually, we didn't do much. She really took off on her own! We had fun doing that together. On Monday we decided to do something fun. We took the kids down to the state forrest and went on a hike. There were a few attitudes in the midst of our hike, but for the most part, I think they enjoyed it. It was nice and windy, so it didn't feel like 80 degrees. :) And it was a beautiful hike. We picked up a friend's truck on our way home, and Kris has been laying down mulch in the yard. I will have to take some final pictures of his work. I think the mud jacker is also coming today to jack up the cement in the back of the house. We are looking forward to getting the way to drain away from the house. :) I think the kids enjoyed their long weekend, but we were also glad to see them head back to school. They are working through some sibling rivalry right now, so it is nice for them to have a break from each other and us to have a break from their arguing. I will add the landscape pictures separate.
